Harsh Habitat
Caterpillar

We are learning how and why certain organisms adapt to different habitats. Here is your chance to create your own caterpillar and learn why they adapt in different ways. Go to the build a caterpillar link and try building a few different types of caterpillars.
Make sure you pay VERY close attention to the scene (top left) and the notes (bottom right) when you are creating your little buddy caterpillar.
Build a Caterpillar
Now for something different

In this activity you get to design animals. Play around and see if you can create an animal that would adapt well to an environment in Guatemala. What adaptations did you give it to make sure it survives?
How is this activity realistic? How is it unrealistic?
PS. The zebra/frog is NOT a real animal. The photo was made on a computer.

Habitats

For animals and plants to be happy they need to be in the correct habitat. Animals and plants can not survive long if the conditions are not perfect. Play this game to give different animals a great home.

Producers, Consumers and Decomposers
Is a mushroom a producer, consumer or decomposer?
Let's play this game to see if you can remember how to classify plants and animals.

More Food Webs!
Here is a cool review activity for food chains. Try it out and see how well you do.
http://www.gould.edu.au/FOODWEBS/kids_web.htm
Food Webs!
Let's see how well you can create a food web! Drag the consumers and producers into the circles to create food webs. The better you do, the harder the food webs become for you to complete. Use your prior knowledge and what we learn in class to finish the largest web you can. Good luck!!!
Please click here for the game!
"Fill in the Gaps" Online Activity
Check out this awesome activity to see how much you remember about habitats and animals. If your teacher gave you a "Fill in the Gaps" worksheet...you can find your answers on this page too!
HAVE FUN!!!
Getting started...
To get you started thinking about animals, visit the website below. It has links to a whole bunch of sites that give you information on different animals. See if you can locate your favorite animal. See if you can find some cool facts about some animals that you didn't know before.
